As previously said, today I suggest a unique experience… RauR never stops and I am not joking! All the things that have an engine become an attraction for me! For the first time I had the pleasure to test and have fun snowmobiling. Well, I would like to congratulate my group for not having to slow down the pace; we had fun taking advantage of the performance of these ‘crazy’ snowmobiles! The snowmobile I drove, with great satisfaction, was a Yamaha Phazer R-TX. It is a little monster of 500CC developing about 80CV, and I swear that in my opinion it is for real quite a lot! You have to exploit the horsepower, but be careful with the maximum speed as it can exceed 100 km/h …however, you should be careful when accelerating because what looks like a harmless walking bike is transformed into a bike that discharge a large amount of horsepower on snow and the adrenaline arises very quickly. My guide was a good mix of self-control, between cross and compensation, playing with the bust and legs to give maximum grip especially in the rear crawler track. It’s ‘nice to feel the front of the snowmobile unloading weight continuously, your arms remain pretty firm on the handlebars and the legs balance the inclination. The start was a bit ‘doubtful, but after a few miles I had an enormous smile on my face. We saw and enjoyed a wonderful landscape, lots of sunshine and lots of snow that for the season was still good. The outfit I chose is a Dainese jacket with protectors on shoulders and elbows; it fits perfectly without taking anything from the female figure. The cargo comfortable trousers by O’neill, with a green Hawaiian print which stands out in middle of the white colour surrounding us, the warm Dainese waterproof gloves, the white motor-cross helmet and with pink-mirrored screen by Dragon, and ankle boots by Timberland. At the end of the day I started to feel tired especially in the arms, in fact, the route, more than 90 km long, from Sauris (UD) towards Sapphire (BL) and back, and I can say it was very challenging and suitable for experienced people. However, it was really worth it, and after that trip, some lovely food was crucial; I had Sauris ham and local cheese together with a craft beer. Special thanks to Franco, our excellent leader, who as well as being a brilliant mountain guide, took us on a fantastic adventure all day long… and we hope to see him again soon!
