Finally, yesterday I had the pleasure to take advantage of the BMW R Nine for a few hours and a quick ride through bends and hairpins. I left for Passo Vezzena coming back towards Asiago, taking the road to Bassano del Grappa. Then I took the well-deserved break to talk about the feelings I had from this new BMW. I start with saying that it seems exactly the bike suitable for me. In my opinion, the main characteristics of this bike are elegance, power, preciousness and it can be customise. Since the first moment I got on the bike, I felt comfortable and safe, with a full rest of the feet on the ground (also for average height women like me), the handlebars are high and wide with a smooth steering wheel. The engine is powerful, ready and linear in the supply; the power transmitted is full and rich. Its ‘male’ sound attracts me as well… It’s stylish and with the possibility to make it unique, and that is what I like most about it. Probably this bike will be timeless, ready to become an icon for the BMW; the Nine T is also conceived to customise, so that you can make it at your own taste. The path I rode on is full of bends and lots of hairpins that didn’t scare me at all. The bike behaved in a wonderful way, the only limit, if you really want me to criticize it, it’s the excessive softness of the fork. It sinks too quickly when you ride in a scrappy way, but that is naturally solvable doing an upgrade. To me, the driving position and the seat are perfect and not exhausting at all. The route I got through yesterday was real fun, also if in some stretches of the road, towards Passo Vezzena and coming back towards Asiago, I had to slow down the rhythm, for the asphalt was cold and slippery. Luckily, for the most part of the route, I had full mastery of the bike, and as I was feeling in full harmony, I had the impression that it’s always being my bike! Yesterday I also felt comfortable wearing what I was most inspired from, feeling naturally in style. A leather jacket – cafè racer style -by Spidi, protection for the back by Dainese, gloves by Spidi, jeans and biker boots. And obviously a cool helmet by Dmd… Then just strong emotions! … See you soon..
